Dampers
UGN’s damping materials are designed to minimize or eliminate the structure-borne noises that are transferred into the cabin via steel panels.
UGN dampers are used in many applications,
including:
· Floor panels
· Wheelhouses
· Dashboard areas
· Trunks
· Roof
· Rear seat area panels
Composition
UGN dampers are composed of various combinations of thermoset plastic, melsheet and butyl rubber. By using multiple materials in a variety of ways, UGN dampers achieve specific sound damping properties, for use in different vehicle applications.
UGN dampers include:
· Butyl rubber
· Expandable dampers (for sandwich constructions)
· Lightweight, high-performing foaming melsheet
· Pressure sensitive adhesive
· Rubber specialty sheet
· Superdamplite
Advantages
From gaps between layers of metal to reduction of engine noise, UGN dampers are designed to combat the unique NVH problems of each vehicle, maximizing acoustic efficiency and protecting the cabin from noise.
Through distinct product design, UGN’s lightweight dampers are equipped to handle high-heat, fill small gaps and easily adhere to difficult-to-access areas.
