The headliner is one of the largest interior acoustical components in passenger vehicles. It provides an aesthetic appearance to the roof, supports smaller components and systems, reduces interior noise and supports the roofline-mounted air bag systems now being used for side impact protection.

UGN’s acoustic headliners meet and exceed these requirements. They are light, do not shed, are easy to install and can be designed to fit any roof contour.

Composition
UGN’s acoustic headliners are low-density thermoformable polyurethane foam sandwiched between layers of fiberglass substrates and bonded with thermoset adhesive.

Raw materials can be adjusted to localize strength and rigidity, providing weight and cost savings compared to alternate headliner substrates that require an overall weight or material increase to achieve the same effect.

Flexibility in our manufacturing process provides for multiple color options, allowing the interior vehicle designer to present a visually enhanced interior along with our superior functionality.
