Peter Anthony
President & CEO, UGN, Inc.

Peter Anthony is president and CEO of UGN, Inc., responsible for providing overall strategic planning for UGN’s acoustic, interior trim and thermal management business for the Japanese transplant automotive industry in North America. In this position, he provides executive leadership for the organization’s more than 1,300 team members located throughout UGN’s four facilities in four states. Additionally, since becoming president and CEO of UGN in 2002 Anthony has streamlined corporate function, increased shareholder equity by 33 percent and net income by 25 percent, opened two manufacturing facilities and has diversified UGN’s product offerings.

Anthony joined UGN in 1992 as an account manager and most recently served as vice president of sales and marketing. In this capacity, he directed and coordinated the organization’s objectives and long-term strategic initiatives with industry trends, competitors’ activities and customers’ needs. Anthony also played an integral role in increasing sales from $42 million in 1992 to $230 million in 2006, while he restructured and strengthened the sales and marketing department by recruiting experienced individuals to respond to customer expectations and dynamic market conditions.

Prior to joining UGN, Anthony held several sales positions at Nissan Motor Company, and Nissan Marine and Power Products. In his three years at Nissan, Anthony was responsible for the management of national accounts and development of dealer sales goals, pricing programs and sales incentives. He also implemented the Nissan Marine Sales and Service Agreement to a nationwide dealer network.

Anthony received a bachelor of arts degree in communications from John Carroll University, Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, Anthony is a member of the Board of Directors and treasurer for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois, a member of the Board of Directors for the Japan America Society, vice president of the Bluegrass Auto Manufacturers Association, a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, a former member of the Board of Directors for the Management Association of Illinois and recognized as one of Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40 in 2003.
