UGN, INC. NAMES BLUE DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

CHICAGO, April 28, 2004 – UGN, Inc., a supplier of acoustic, interior trim and thermal management products to the automotive industry, has promoted Matthew Blue to Director of Product Development. In his new position, Blue will oversee Research and Development and Product Engineering, while improving and supporting current UGN technologies, managing new product development and customer technical support.

“Matthew’s dedication and leadership has helped UGN gain recognition in North America for its full spectrum of acoustic expertise and products,” said Peter Anthony, president and CEO, UGN, Inc. “We know his skills will help to further develop our product offerings and continue to meet the needs and exceed expectations of our customers.

” Blue was hired by UGN in 2000 to create and manage the Product Engineering department at the automotive supplier’s Chicago headquarters. While in this position, Blue staffed and managed the Project Engineering, Design, and Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) groups. Prior to joining UGN, Blue was an account executive and product engineer for NGK Spark Plugs (USA) Inc. and he worked as a development engineer for Roush Technologies.

Blue is currently pursuing a master of business administration degree at the University of Chicago. He earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University. In addition, Blue is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Headquartered in Chicago, UGN was incorporated in 1986 as a joint venture between Rieter Automotive Systems and Nihon Tokushu Toryo (Nittoku). Rieter’s innovative leadership and theoretical acoustics combined with advanced manufacturing processes and quality system design by Nittoku have established UGN as a preferred supplier of acoustic, interior trim and thermal management products to the Japanese transplant automotive industry in North America.
